Al Ansar Islamic Inc. is a not for profit incorporation focused on providing multiple services for the broader community in Australia.

The programs Al Ansar offer the community include: programs introducing Islam, classes to to seek comprehensive Islamic knowledge with proper understanding delivered in both Arabic and English languages, talks and panels addressing the relevant Islamic issues, and projects for the taking the youth off the streets. Our motivation stems form our concern for our Muslim brothers and sisters and general Australian public for the future of understanding Islam.

Al Ansar began when Sheikh Ahmed Taher and a few motivated brothers came together 3 years ago to discuss the needs of the community here in Australia, in particular Western Sydney and its surroundings. The team was then invited to a small community centre in Lidcombe to commence our activities. This provided the space needed for the programs in mind and created a refuge for youth in particular to come together, interact and enjoy a strong community that is offered by this organisation.

Almost 3 years on and we are still operating from the current centre, and the efforts exerted resulted in a wide array of nationalities and age groups joining our daily efforts. This resulted in the need to expand to better cater for our volunteers and attendees in terms of  a wider range of programs and activities to support the community.
